This tours features the ancient cities of
Ayutthaya,
the ancient
Thai capital for 417 years; Phimai, home of ruins of
fascinating ancient Khmer architecture; and
Buri Ram, known as the City of
Pleasantness. Many
ancient ruins and art works can be seen in these historic sites when the Thais were forced southwards by
its northern neighbors. During this period, 33 kings of different dynasties ruled the kingdom until
it was sacked by the Burmese in 1767.
This is
truly a journey back in time. Sightseeing inAyutthaya includes visits to Bang Pa-in Palace, the ruins of Vihara Phra Mongkonbopit
and Wat Phra Si
Sanphet; followed by an excursion to the town of Phimai,
home of the world's biggest banyan tree
and the Khmer Temple, similar in size and layout to the
temple of Angkor Wat built in the early 12th century; and an excursion
to Buri Ram to visit the famous Prasat Phanom Rung and
Prasat Muang Tam Khmer-style stone castles.

Day 1.
Depart Bangkok for Ayutthaya, ancient capital of Siam. Visit Bang
Pa-in Palace, the ruins of Vihara Phra Mongkonbopit and Wat Phra Si

Day 2.
Depart for Phimai to visit the ruins of a Khmer temple and the Banyan
Tree Park. After lunch, continue to Buri Ram to visit the famous
