catch a rare glimpse of feudal Japan. Recharge your soul in the
surroundings of spectacular scenery, warm friendly people and
heart-warming culture. Indulge your senses in ultra-modern Tokyo
with its endless array of sensational shopping & entertainment.
Discover treasures, both famed and hidden, at every turn as you walk
the streets of Kyoto. Whether you are fascinated by the mystique of
The Samurai or simply wish to explore a world of untold
mysteries, your most unforgettable journey awaits....
Your trip begins by touching down on
one of the world's most modern yet historic cities -- Tokyo, the ancient capital where
the Tokugawa Shogunate ruled Japan for centuries.
Its contrasts between the
old and the new, the traditional and modern never ceases to amaze
the visitor.
Next, proceed to Nagano prefecture and
visit
Matsumoto, a revered castle town surrounded by mountains
renowned for its natural beauty and laidback atmosphere. Travel by road
to the Post Towns of
Magome, Tsumago and Nagiso in Kiso Valley
boasting commanding views of Mt. Ena and cobbled
footpaths lined with colorfully decorated shops and local food
stands.
Next stop: Takayama,
a former Merchant District and castle town famed for its old
wooden houses and lineal beauty that instantly captivates the
visitor.
Visit UNESCO Shirakawa-go, a small village set
in a remote mountainous region famed for its magnificent
Gassho-style farm houses; Kami
Sannomachi Street, a former Samurai controlled area comprised
of wooden houses and colorful shops reminiscent of Old Japan;
and the town's Morning Market where vendors offer a variety of fresh
produce and food products to local residents.
No trip to Japan is
complete without visiting Kyoto,
the ancient capital of Japan for more than a thousand years. Kyoto
is forever known for its history and culture, casting an image of
Old Japan where ancient Buddhist temples, traditional wooden houses,
stunning palaces and beautiful classical gardens abound.
