Our Northern Thailand program features an enchanting journey to Thailand's vibrant capital and its majestic countryside. This tour combines the Thailand's most popular spots with several off-the-beaten-track destinations to give you an opportunity to sample the kingdom's assortment of endearing culture, scenic beauty and ancient landmarks.

Your introduction to Thailand begins with Bangkok, a vibrant international city with a tasteful blend of East and West, dazzling landmarks and boundless entertainment -- from gourmet restaurants and space age nightclubs to colorful night markets and hip bars. Next, we visit Putchabun, a beautiful countryside retreat sometimes referred to as the "Switzerland of Thailand", hidden among misty mountains and only known to a few. Visitors enjoy the spectacular works of Mother Nature where cascading waterfalls, rolling hills, wild flowers and grassy fields abound.

We then embark on scenic voyage by road to the ancient city of Sukhothai, home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where some of Thailand's greatest historical landmarks and ancient temples lie. Your Thailand expedition concludes in Chiang Mai, a lovely city with a beautiful cultural personality blessed with majestic natural beauty,  where our guests enjoy a memorable experience at a local elephant camp, followed by river rafting and a visit to a primitive hilltribe village that has endured the test of time.

TOUR ITINERARY:

Day 1. Bangkok - Upon arrival, transfer to Grand Sukhumvit Hotel

Day 2. Bangkok - This morning’s tour visits the Royal Grand Palace, Golden Cheddi, the Pantheon of Kings and the Emerald Buddha with a boat excursion along the "Klongs" of the Chao Phraya. Afternoon at leisure. (B)

Day 3. Bangkok - Morning excursion of the Floating Market at Damnoen Saduak. Afternoon at leisure. (B)

Day 4. Bangkok / Phitsanulok / Petchabun - Transfer to the airport for your flight to Phitsanulok. Sightseeing tour today includes a temple tour to Petchabun town and a visit to the Thung Salaeng Luang National Park. Lunch at a local restaurant and dinner at the resort. Dinner and overnight at the Imperial Phi Kaew Hill Resort (B,L,D)

Day 5. Petchabun - Full day tour to Kang Sopha Waterfalls and the surrounding forests. Lunch at a vegetable farm and dinner at the resort. (B,L,D)

Day 6. Petchabun / Sukhothai - Depart for Sukhothai by road. Enroute, visit the historical park and ruins of temples including Wat Phra Sri Ratana Maha Dhat. After lunch, , visit of the old part of town and first capital (13^th century) of the Thai Kingdom. Old Sukhothai is one of Asia’s most important t historic sites and therefore under the supervision of UNESCO. Dinner and accommodations at Sukhothai Heritage Hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 7. Sukhothai / Chiang Mai - This morning visit Srisatchanalai , Wat Charng Lom and Wat Sri Chum. After lunch at a local restaurant, depart for Chiang Mai by road. Accommodations at Ayatana Hamlet Resort. Dinner at the hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 8. Chiang Mai - Enjoy a full day Elephant Safari at the Mae Taman Elephant Camp, enjoy an exciting elephant-back ride in the jungle, returning by oxcart followed by a rafting adventure along the Mae Taman River. Return to Chiang Mai in the afternoon visiting an orchid farm en-route. (B,L)

Day 9. Chiang Mai - Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. (B)
