Our Beijing and Shanghai land-only city module features an incredible journey to two of China’s most fascinating tourist destinations. This tour offers five memorable nights to sample China’s spectacular ancient civilization, accented by a tasteful blend of vibrant and modern-day world. In Beijing, you will have the opportunity to visit some of China’s legendary landmarks known to the world’s most distinguished travelers. Our tour includes visits to the Forbidden City, the imperial palace for the Ming and Qing dynasties; Ming Tombs, a group of mausoleums of 13 Ming Emperors; the Summer Palace, a grand imperial palace and a royal garden of the Qing Dynasty; Tian’anmen Square, the largest city square in the world and a symbol of New China; Temple of Heaven, the largest temple compound and one of the most strictly protected and preserved cultural heritages of China; an of course, the magnificent Great Wall of China, the symbol of Ancient Chinese civilization built two millenniums ago by over one million people.

Next, travel on one of China’s latest technological marvels on board a super fast “G” train for Shanghai, one of the nation’s most modern, yet historically significant cities. It is an international shopping, gourmet and entertainment paradise that has the world at your fingertips. Our tour includes excursions to The Bund, an emblem of Shanghai, with a riverfront promenade along the eastern side offering a captivating view of the city’s skyline; Yu Yuan Garden, a majestic classical garden inspired by the Ming and Qing Dynasties; and the Jade Buddha Temple, the home of a mesmerizing jade statue of Sakyamuni from Myanmar.

Day 1. Beijing:
Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to Park Plaza Beijing (Superior) OR The Regent Beijing (Deluxe).

Day 2. Beijing:
Today’s city tour includes the Forbidden City, the Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven and Tiananmen Square. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. (B,L)

Day 3. Beijing:
Today visit the spectacular Mutianyu section of the Great Wall with Cable Car ride. After lunch at a local restaurant, return to Beijing City and enjoy a tour of its Old Quarters (Hutongs) by rickshaw visiting a local family residence, Bell & Drum Tower. This evening, enjoy a Peking Duck Dinner followed by a Legends of Kung Fu Show. (B,L,D)

Day 4. Beijing / Shanghai:
Transfer to Beijing Station and board a High Speed “G” Train that travels at speeds of up to 250 mph for Shanghai. Upon arrival, be met and transferred to Renaissance Yu Garden Shanghai (Superior) OR Swissotel Grand Shanghai (Deluxe) and enjoy the balance of the day at leisure to relax, shop and explore Shanghai on your own. Day 5. Shanghai:
Full day city sightseeing of Shanghai features the Old Town and its Yu Garden, Urban Planning & Exhibition Center, the Bund, Shanghai Museum and the art district of Tianzifang famed for its Old Shanghai Shikumen houses in a laid back atmosphere with cobbled streets lined with art galleries, cafes and restaurants. Lunch is served at a local restaurant. This evening, enjoy a breathtaking Shanghai Acrobatics Performance. (B,L)

Day 6. Depart Shanghai:
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight. (B)
