A Private Thailand Family Tour – Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, River Kwai, Chiang Mai, Krabi

Day 1 Arrive Bangkok
Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Bangkok for your next 3 nights’ accommodations.

Day 2 Bangkok
This morning, enjoy a visit to the Thai Capital’s revered Royal Grand Palace and its Temple of the Emerald Buddha followed by a boat trip to explore the “Klongs” (canals) of the Chao Phraya. Afternoon free at leisure to relax and explore Bangkok on your own. (B)

Day 3 Bangkok (Floating Market)
This morning, enjoy a visit to the famed Damnoem Saduak Floating Market, where villagers transport their agricultural products by canals to the center of trading. It is a labyrinth of almost two hundreds branched canals. Both sides of the canals are ancient Thai wooden houses and shops of variable products and life-styles. Continue to the interesting Maeklong Train Market where local vendors and patrons line the train tracks, quickly disperse and reassemble as the train comes and goes. Return to Bangkok in the afternoon and enjoy the balance of the day at leisure. (B)

Day 4 Bangkok / Death Railway / Lava Caves / River Kwai
Morning pick up from your hotel and depart for Kanchanaburi. Visit the WW II Museum and Kanchanaburi War Cemetery. Board an an original ‘Death Railway Train’ to Nam-Tok Station, the last terminal station of the Thai-Burma railway. After lunch, embark on a boat trip to the Kaeng Lawa Cave to admire the fantastic stone formations before checking-in at your floating resort. This evening, enjoy dinner and cultural performance at the resort. (B,L,D)

Day 5 River Kwai / Hell Fire Pass / Chiang Mai 
After breakfast, visit Hellfire Pass Memorial, home to the “best museum in Thailand” and ranked among the top five in Asia by TripAdvisor, representing a dark chapter of the WWII period where thousands of POWs and Asian civilians lost their lives building the Death Railway under Japanese rule. After lunch, enjoy a bamboo raft trip along a rushing stream of Kwai Noi River (conditions permitting) before continuing onto Chiang Mai on your late afternoon flight. Upon arrival, be met and transferred to your resort. (B,L)

Day 6 Chiang Mai (Elephant Experience at Patara Elephant Farm)
Embark on a once-in-a-lifetime “Elephant Experience” at Patara Elephant Farm. Located in the hills outside Chiang Mai, Patara Elephant Farm offers an uncommon, fun-filled and educational experience to learn just about everything there is to care for an elephant. Here, you’ll will be assigned your very own elephant for the day with a host of fascinating activities such as riding (bareback), training, bathing and feeding these gentle giants. Day 7 Chiang Mai (Flight-of-Gibbon Adventure)
Experience the beauty and adventure of Thailand’s rainforest like never before. High in the tree tops of a pristine national park, located in a 1500 year old rainforest next to a quaint Thai village of Mae Kampong, you’ll glide through the jungle canopy consisting of zip-lines, scenic sky bridges and adrenaline-inducing abseils across 33 platforms spanning 5 kms. In addition, enjoy a trek to Mae Kampong Falls with a chance to catch a glimpse of gibbons in the wild. Includes lunch. Day 8 Chiang Mai / Krabi
Transfer for your flight to Krabi. Upon arrival, be met and transferred to your resort for three days of sun, surf and great family fun. (B)

Day 9 Krabi (Hong Island OR Phi Phi Islands)
Today’s excursion features a choice of one of the following:

Option 1 – Snorkeling at Hong Island:  Hong Island stands out as one of the most beautiful islands along the Andaman coast. As you approach from the sea the towering limestone formation & crystal clear waters inspire images of a deserted dream island get away. Peley beach on the island boasts a fine powder sand.  The coral reefs here are amazing and reef siphons can also be found Naturally, there is also an abundance of brightly colored tropical fish also be found here in these tropical waters. Includes lunch.

Option 2 – 4-Islands Trip: Enjoy a boat trip of several beautiful and uninhabited islands around Krabi. Visit the stunning Koh Tub and Koh Mor Islands for swimming and sun bathing on the beach; Chicken Island (Ko Kai), a local landmark named after the shape of its unique limestone jutting out above the sea; and Pranang bay famous for its “Railey Beach”, home to some of the best rock climbing in Thailand. Includes light picnic lunch. Return to your resort and enjoy the balance of the afternoon at leisure. (B,L)

Option 3 – Phi Phi Island by Speedboat: Visit the famous Phi Phi Islands for swimming and snorkeling or just
lazing on the beach. Today’s tour highlights include Phi Phi Lay, snorkeling at Loh Sama with an abundant coral and fish, Tonsai Bay for Thai lunch, Phi Phi Don, Bamboo Island. Stop at Chicken Island for a dip before returning to Krabi. includes lunch.

Day 10 Krabi 
Enjoy a day of leisure in Paradise. (B)

Day 11 Depart Krabi 
Transfer to Krabi or Phuket airport for your departure home. Arrive the same day. (B)
