Your introduction to China begins with Beijing, where you will have an opportunity to step foot on some of the most spectacular sights known to mankind. Visit the country’s most revered landmarks, such as the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven, and of course, the magnificent Great Wall of China. Next continue on to Xian, a beautiful ancient capital for over 1,060 years across 13 of China’s great dynasties. Visits include the Tomb of Emperor Qin Shihuang, home of the remarkable 2,000 year old Terracotta warriors, the impregnable Xian City Wall, and the site of the fascinating Yangling Tombs, which date back to 153 A.D.

Day 1 Depart North America
Depart USA for Beijing via Cathay Pacific Airways, connecting in Hong Kong.
Day 2 Arrive Beijing
Upon arrival and after clearing immigration and customs, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 3 Beijing
Today, visit the spectacular Mutianyu section of the Great Wall with cable car ride. After lunch at a local restaurant, return to Beijing City and enjoy a tour of its Old Quarters (Hutongs) by rickshaw, visiting a local family residence and the Bell & Drum Tower. This evening, enjoy a Peking Duck Dinner followed by a Legends of Kung Fu Show. (B,L,D)
Day 4 Beijing
A full-day city tour today includes visits to the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, the Temple of Heaven and Tiananmen Square. (B,L)
Day 5 Beijing / Xian
Morning at leisure. Transfer for your afternoon High Speed Train to Xian. Upon arrival, be met and transferred to your hotel in Xian.
Day 6 Xian
Today’s full-day tour includes the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, City Museum and Terracotta Museum, tomb of the Emperor Qin Shi Huang Di with its Terracotta Army. Tonight, enjoy a Tang Dynasty dinner and cultural show followed by a brief stroll through the Night Market at Muslim Quarters (time permitting). (B,L,D)
Day 7 Xian / Shanghai
Morning tour of the Yangling Tombs followed by your early afternoon flight to Shanghai. Transfer to your hotel upon arrival and enjoy the balance of the afternoon at leisure. (B)
Day 8 Shanghai
Full-day city sightseeing of Shanghai features the Old Town and its Yu Garden, Urban Planning & Exhibition Center, the Bund, Shanghai Museum and the art district of Tianzifang, famed for its Old Shanghai Shikumen houses in a laid back atmosphere with cobbled streets lined with art galleries, cafes and restaurants. Enjoy a Western lunch at one of Shanghai’s exclusive restaurants located on the Bund. This evening, enjoy a breathtaking Shanghai Acrobatics Performance. (B,L)
Day 9 Shanghai
Full day free at leisure to shop and explore Shanghai on your own. (B)
Day 10 Shanghai / USA
Transfer to the airport for your flight home. Arrive the same day. (B)
