A Private India Tour – Delhi, Agra, Jaipur
6 Days / 5 Nights – Tour Code (DJA) – Land Only – private tour – Departs Daily
Designed for first-time travelers seeking a comprehensive yet elevated introduction to North India, this privately guided journey brings together the Golden Triangle’s most iconic cities—Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur—in one thoughtfully paced experience. With expert local guidance and refined accommodations throughout, the itinerary blends landmark sights with immersive encounters, offering a layered view of modern India alongside its spiritual and imperial legacies.
The journey begins in Delhi, where centuries of empire and contemporary nationhood share the same skyline. In Old Delhi, the Red Fort and Jama Masjid rise above historic lanes and bazaars, while a stroll or rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk reveals a vivid streetscape of spice stalls, silver shops, and sari merchants. New Delhi shifts the tone to broad ceremonial avenues, from India Gate and the colonial-era government quarter to architectural milestones such as Humayun’s Tomb and the soaring Qutub Minar.
From the capital, travel overland to Agra, the former heart of the Mughal Empire. The Taj Mahal stands in luminous white marble—an enduring study in symmetry and craftsmanship—complemented by the imposing Agra Fort, whose red-sandstone walls shelter palaces and audience halls overlooking the Yamuna River. En route to Jaipur, Fatehpur Sikri offers a striking glimpse of Akbar’s ambition in an abandoned red-sandstone city.
The final days unfold in Jaipur, Rajasthan’s Pink City, where royal heritage is expressed through hilltop fortresses, ornate palaces, and precise astronomical design. Explore Amer Fort by jeep, admire the delicate façade of Hawa Mahal, and step inside the City Palace before concluding at Jantar Mantar’s monumental instruments. Together, these three cities form a richly textured first chapter in India—at once grand, vivid, and unforgettable.

TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrive Delhi (Welcome to India!)
Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for your next two nights’ accommodation. The remainder of the day is at leisure, allowing time to rest after your journey or begin absorbing the rhythm of the city at your own pace.
Day 2 Delhi (Old & New Delhi Discovery)
Delhi reveals itself in vivid contrasts—Mughal grandeur and modern nationhood sharing the same horizon. In Old Delhi, the red-sandstone walls of the Red Fort and the vast Jama Masjid anchor a world of living lanes and bazaars, best experienced through Chandni Chowk’s hum of spice stalls, silver shops, and sari merchants.
From there, the day moves through layers of history: the ruins of Kotla Firoze Shah with its ancient Ashoka Pillar, and the quiet simplicity of Raj Ghat, Gandhi’s riverside memorial. New Delhi shifts the mood to broad boulevards and imperial geometry—Rashtrapati Bhavan, the government quarter, and India Gate—before returning to the artistry of the Mughals at Humayun’s Tomb and the enduring monuments of Delhi’s earliest Islamic era at the Iron Pillar and Qutub Minar. (B)
Day 3 Delhi / Agra (Journey to the Taj Mahal)
After breakfast, travel overland by private car to Agra (approx. 4 hours), the former heart of the Mughal Empire, where imperial monuments overlook the Yamuna River. This afternoon is anchored by the Taj Mahal* (closed Fridays), Shah Jahan’s luminous white-marble tribute to Mumtaz Mahal—an enduring study in symmetry, fine inlay, and quiet grandeur.
Time permitting, continue to Agra Fort, a red-sandstone stronghold of palaces, mosques, and audience halls, with river-facing views and architectural details that reflect a meeting of Islamic and Hindu traditions. Return to your hotel and enjoy a relaxed remainder of the day at leisure. (B)
* Note: The Taj Mahal visit may be arranged at sunrise or sunset, subject to your preference and timing.
Day 4 Agra / Jaipur (From the Mughals to the Maharajas)
Leave Agra behind and travel overland toward Jaipur (approx. 5 hours), pausing at Fatehpur Sikri—Akbar’s red-sandstone capital, briefly magnificent and then abandoned, where courtyards and carved facades reveal a graceful blend of Hindu and Islamic design.
By afternoon, arrive in Jaipur, Rajasthan’s storied Pink City, set against rugged hills and fortress-crowned ridgelines. Celebrated for its palace architecture, orderly geometry, and vibrant desert character, Jaipur offers a striking shift in atmosphere as you settle into your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. (B)
Day 5 Jaipur (Jewels of Jaipur)
Jaipur unfolds today in layers of royal ambition and intellectual precision. Ascend to Amber Fort, its hilltop courtyards, mirrored halls, and the revered Shiladevi Temple reflecting the power and artistry of the Rajput courts. Below, the honeycombed façade of Hawa Mahal—Jaipur’s famed “Palace of Winds”—stands as an elegant reminder of a time when royal women observed the rhythms of the city from behind intricately screened windows.
Within the City Palace, a harmonious blend of Mughal and Rajasthani design continues this story of refinement, from ceremonial gateways to the private quarters of Chandra Mahal and the living devotion of Shri Govind Dev Temple. The day concludes at Jantar Mantar, where monumental stone instruments—precise even centuries later—speak to Jaipur’s enduring legacy of science, astronomy, and enlightened rule. (B)
Day 6 Jaipiur /Delhi (A Final Farewell): After breakfast, travel overland by private car back to Delhi (approx. 5 hours), reflecting on the imperial cities and vivid encounters that have shaped your journey. Transfer to the airport for your onward flight, concluding your bespoke exploration of India’s storied Golden Triangle. (B)
