PLACES WHERE YOU'LL STAY
Private, Active & Engaging: Scenic Hikes & Countryside by Bike
Created for families who enjoy staying active while discovering new places together, this privately guided journey blends outdoor exploration, cultural highlights, and hands-on experiences across Japan’s cities and countryside. Carefully paced and family-friendly, the itinerary is designed to keep everyone engaged—combining movement, learning, and shared accomplishment throughout the journey.
Japan’s energy and tradition come into focus through experiences that feel both iconic and playful. In Tokyo, stroll Meiji Shrine’s forested grounds, sample fresh bites at Tsukiji Market, and step into the immersive digital worlds of teamLab Planets. Cultural context comes alive around Asakusa and Sensō-ji, while time at Ueno Zoo or an anime café adds a fun counterbalance—keeping days varied for all ages.
A slower, more nature-forward rhythm follows in the mountains of the Kiso Valley, where preserved post towns and wooded scenery set the stage for time outdoors. Evenings settle into a traditional ryokan stay with a multi-course kaiseki meal, before a family-friendly hike along a section of the historic Nakasendō Trail. Walking past waterfalls, shrines, and bamboo groves, the route encourages families to move together and experience Japan’s countryside at a human pace.
Active discovery continues with Kyoto as the backdrop. Cycling along green corridors and through iconic surroundings keeps the experience lively, while a ninja training workshop adds a hands-on, high-energy highlight. Beyond the city, Lake Biwa offers a warm cultural finish: a home-style hotpot meal shared with local villagers, where conversation and hospitality bring everyday life into view.
Balancing physical activity with meaningful cultural encounters, this active family tour of Japan is crafted for families who want their trip to feel energizing, seamless, and genuinely shared.
