Our Taiwan Highlights Tour features seven memorable days to experience Taiwan’s myriad of bustling city vibes, sensational food culture and a heavy dose of Mother Nature at her finest. Starting with Taipei, we explore the capital’s must-sees including its ancient and modern architectural masterpieces, as well as the city’s world renowned night market scene. After a couple of days of excitement of the bright lights and big city, we embark on a scenic journey touring the spectacular Sun Moon Lake of mist-dappled water surrounded by thickly forested mountains; the awe-inspiring Taroko Gorge formed by the Liwu River carving its way through marble mountains whose precipitous cliffs are draped with waterfalls and overhung with lush jungle vegetation; and the quaint, former gold-mining town of Chiufen lined with tea houses, shops and beautiful sea views.

TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1. Arrive Taipei
Upon arrival at Taoyuan International Airport, be met and transferred to your hotel for your next 2 nights’ accommodations.

Day 2 Taipei
Morning at leisure. This afternoon, enjoy a city tour of Taipei visiting Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, National Palace Museum where 5,000 years of Chinese Imperial arts and jade collections are exhibited and Martyrs’ Shrine. This evening, visit TAIPEI 101 followed by an exhilarating stroll through the bustling Raohe Street Night Market, one of the city’s oldest and most dazzling, offering patrons a chance to experience real Taiwanese way of life where numerous mouth-watering food stands, fashion boutiques and souvenir stalls line the street. Day 3 Taipei /Sun Moon Lake
After breakfast, depart Taipei by road for Sun Moon Lake. Located in the middle of Taiwan situated 762 meters above sea level, we visit the famous Wenwu Temple, also known as Literature-Warrior Temple, dedicated to Confucius as Master of Pen and to Kuan Ti as Master of Sword, Holy Monk Shrine and Ci En Pagoda. Check-in at your resort and enjoy the balance of the day at leisure to relax and appreciate Sun Moon Lake’s pristine environs. Includes lunch at a local restaurant. (B,L)

Day 4 Sun Moon Lake / Taroko Gorge
Enjoy a morning scenic drive for Taroko Gorge, visiting the scenic Qingjing Farm en-route. Taroko Gorge is famous for its spectacular natural beauty comprising of valleys, gorges, mountains, rapid rivers and waterfalls that never cease to amaze the visitor. Includes lunch at a local restaurant. Transfer to your hotel in Taroko and enjoy the balance of the afternoon at leisure. (B,L)

Day 5 Taroko / Yilan
Full day sightseeing of Taroko National Park. Taroko Gorge is an exceptionally beautiful, narrow raving created by a river which has cut deep into the mountains of solid marble. A road carved into sheer walls of rock snakes its way past forested peaks and cliffs towering thousands of feet above it, while hundreds of feet below a river roars past gigantic marble boulders. Visit Evergreen Shrine, Swallow Grotto, Nine Turns of Tunnel (drive by), Marble Bridge, Tienshiang before proceeding to Yilan. Includes Lunch. (B,L)

Day 6 Yilan /  Chiufen / Taipei
Morning at leisure to relax and enjoy the resort’s hot-springs for which the region is famous. This afternoon, drive to the Northeast Coast, visiting Pitou Cape and Nanya Rocks Formation followed by Chiufen Village. The villages of Chiufen were once centers of gold mining in Taiwan. The gold is gone, but these quaint old villages, built of closely-packed houses clinging to steep mountainsides, continue to offer enchanting scenery and fascinating glimpses into the lifestyles of the past. Continue to Taipei and check-in at your hotel. Includes lunch. (B,L)

Day 7 Depart Taipei
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight onward. (B)
