TOUR ITINERARY:

Days 1–3: Tokyo – A City of Contrasts

Begin your journey in Tokyo, where centuries-old temples and tranquil shrine grounds coexist with one of the world’s most vibrant modern cityscapes. With your private guide as your co-pilot, discover the capital’s essential landmarks while navigating the city’s remarkable rail network—an experience in itself.

Day 1 (Welcome to Japan): Upon arrival in Tokyo, you will be met and transferred by private car to your hotel in the city center for your next three nights. The balance of the day is at leisure to explore bustling Shibuya surrounding your hotel.

Day 2 (The City Highlights): Today, enjoy a private tour of several of Tokyo’s must-see landmarks. Visit Meiji Jingu Shrine, Tokyo’s most famous Shinto shrine dedicated to the late 19th-century emperor who opened Japan to the West, set within a tranquil park and marked by its towering torii gate. Continue to Tsukiji Market, once home to the world’s largest fish market and now a lively marketplace filled with seafood stalls, produce vendors, and sushi counters. Next, visit Senso-ji, Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist temple, and stroll through colorful Nakamise Shopping Street before continuing to Ueno Park, home to temples, museums, and gardens. The day concludes with a walk through nearby Ameya-Yokocho Market, known for its bustling food stalls and local atmosphere. Return to your hotel. (B)

Day 3 (Tokyo Your Way): Enjoy a full day at leisure to explore Tokyo independently. Your travel advisor can suggest a wide range of interests—from anime and contemporary museums to tranquil gardens, food districts, cooking lessons, food tours, or even a sumo show. (B)

Days 4–6: Kyoto – The Imperial Heart of Japan

Travel to Kyoto, Japan’s ancient capital for over a thousand years, where temple gardens, historic streets, and traditional neighborhoods evoke the elegance of Old Japan.

Day 4 (From Tokyo to Kyoto): This morning, proceed to Shinagawa Station for your two-hour Shinkansen (Bullet Train) ride to Kyoto. Upon arrival, meet your guide and begin sightseeing with a visit to Kinkaku-ji (the Golden Pavilion), originally built as a shogun’s retirement villa before becoming a Zen temple. Continue to Kiyomizu Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site founded in 780 and famed for its dramatic wooden terrace overlooking the wooded hills of eastern Kyoto. Stroll the historic streets of Ninen-zaka and Sannen-zaka before visiting Yasaka Shrine and nearby Maruyama Park. Conclude the day with a walk through Kyoto’s atmospheric Gion District before returning to your hotel. (B)

Day 5 (Kyoto by Bicycle & Cultural Landscapes): This morning, enjoy an invigorating bike ride through several of Kyoto’s famous sights, including the Golden Pavilion, Ryoan-ji Temple—home to Japan’s most famous rock garden—and Arashiyama, renowned for its bamboo forest. At the end of the tour, make your way back to Kyoto by local train on your own. The balance of the afternoon is at leisure. (B)

Day 6 (Cultural Traditions of Kyoto): Enjoy a relaxing morning exploring Kyoto at your own pace. This afternoon, choose between a Japanese Izakaya cooking lesson or a traditional tea ceremony held in a Machiya house. (B)

Days 7–9: Busan – Korea’s Seaside Escape

Leave Japan behind and cross the Sea of Japan to Busan, South Korea’s vibrant coastal city known for its beaches, bustling seafood markets, and colorful hillside neighborhoods.

Day 7 (From Kyoto to Busan): Transfer by shared shuttle van to Osaka Airport for your flight to Busan. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your resort on Haeundae Beach. Enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at leisure exploring the vibrant markets and beach scene surrounding your hotel. (B)

Day 8 (Markets & Colorful Hillsides): This morning, tour Busan’s highlights beginning with Jagalchi Fish Market, Korea’s largest seafood market, followed by Gukje Market, a sprawling bazaar offering everything from clothing and electronics to antiques and local specialties. Continue to Gamcheon Culture Village—often called “Lego Village”—a colorful hillside community known for its vibrant murals, art installations, and narrow alleyways. Time permitting, visit the iconic Haedong Yonggungsa Temple before returning to your hotel. (B)

Day 9 (Seaside Leisure): Enjoy a full day at leisure to relax and enjoy the beach at Haeundae. (B)

Days 10–13: Seoul – Royal Heritage & Modern Energy

Your journey concludes in Seoul, a fascinating metropolis where ancient palaces, lively neighborhoods, and contemporary culture blend seamlessly.

Day 10 (From Busan to Seoul): Transfer to Busan Station for your KTX train to Seoul. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the heart of the city in Myeongdong. The balance of the afternoon is yours to explore nearby attractions such as Namsan Tower, Namdaemun Market, and Myeongdong’s lively shopping streets. (B)

Day 11 (Palaces, Temples & Neighborhoods): Today, enjoy a full-day private walking tour visiting some of Seoul’s most important landmarks and neighborhoods. Highlights include Gyeongbok Palace, Changdeok Palace, Insadong and Ikseondong districts, and Namsangol Village. (B)

Day 12 (The Demilitarized Zone): Today, embark on a rare opportunity to visit the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), the buffer zone that has separated North and South Korea for over 50 years. Explore the 3rd Tunnel—believed to have been constructed for a potential northern invasion—and ride a cable car above the minefield dividing the two Koreas. Visit Dora Observatory for views across the border into North Korea and observe the untouched landscape preserved since the armistice. (B)
