A Thailand Culinary & Foodies Tour – Bangkok, Golden Triangle, Chiang Mai

Day 1 Arrive Bangkok
Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 Bangkok
Enjoy a morning city tour of Bangkok visiting the Royal Grand Palace to see Dusit Hall (Funeral Hall) and its sacred Wat Phra Kaew (Emerald Buddha), Wat Pho (Reclining Buddha) and Wat Trimit (Golden Buddha). Afternoon free at leisure. This evening, enjoy an enchanting dinner cruise along the River of Kings on board Shangri-la’s Horizon Cruise. (B,D)

Day 3 Bangkok
Enjoy a private morning tour of the infamous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, where villagers transport their agricultural products by canals to the center of trading. Enjoy the balance of the day at leisure to relax and explore Bangkok on your own.

Later this evening, enjoy a Night Foodies Tour by Tuk Tuk. This exciting tour visits famous eateries around the city sample local street foods such as Khao Man Gai (Chicken & Rice), Pad Thai or Guay Tiew Kua Gai (Chicken Noodle Soup). Explore the Flower Market followed by a local temple before returning to your hotel by midnight. (B,D)

Day 4 Bangkok
This morning, enjoy a fantastic cooking lesson at the highly acclaimed Blue Elephant Cooking School. The session begins with a visit to the Bang Rak Morning market to gather the day’s freshest ingredients. With the help of your Blue Elephant Chef, enjoy a hands-on lesson to prepare your very own 4-course lunch. Return to your hotel and enjoy the balance of your afternoon at leisure. Day 5 Bangkok / Golden Triangle
Morning flight to Chiang Rai. Transfer to your resort upon arrival. This afternoon, enjoy time at your resort plus an Elephant Experience at Anantara’a very own elephant camp. Lunch & dinner are served at the resort. (B,L,D)

Day 6 Golden Triangle
Today’s full day tour features to famous Golden Triangle that borders Thailand, Laos and Myanmar. Enjoy a boat ride along the Mighty Mekong to get a close up look at where the three countries meet. Then, cross into a Myanmar border town to catch a glimpse the Burmese life. Visit local temples and enjoy a stroll through its bustling market before crossing back to Thailand. Return to your resort in the afternoon. Includes lunch at a local restaurant. (B,L,D)

Day 7 Golden Triangle / Chiang Mai
After breakfast, depart by road for Chiang Mai, visiting the impressive White Temple en-route. Check-in at your resort in Chiang Mai. This evening, take a foodies tour of Chiang Mai and sample some of the most tasty treats the city has to offer. Our first stop is at the legendary Warorot market where you will have the opportunity to explore the market and take in some of the local flavors. Afterward, head to the outer environs of the city to sample the quintessential Northern Thailand dish Kao Soi. Enjoy a stroll of the night market before returning to your hotel. (B)

Day 8 Chiang Mai
This morning, enjoy a tour of Chiang Mai City visiting local temples, markets and residential areas. Afterwards, drive up Doi Suthep Mountain and visit the most sacred Temple in Northern Thailand, located at an altitude of nearly 5,000 ft. Return to your resort and enjoy your afternoon at leisure. This evening, embark on a night foodies tour of Chiang Mai and sample some of the most tasty treats thecity has to offer. Our first stop is at the legendary Warorot market where you will have the opportunity to explore the market and take in some of the local flavors. Day 9 Chiang Mai
Today, enjoy a fun-filled morning or afternoon cooking lesson at Pantawan Cooking School. Enjoy the balance of the day at leisure relax or explore beautiful Chiang Mai on yoru own. (B,L or D) ****Includes private transfers. Cooking lesson on join basis with other participants****

Day 10. Depart Chiang Mai
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight onward. (B)
