Our Ultimate Borneo Adventure features an unforgettable journey to Borneo, the 3rd largest island in the world situated in the western Pacific north of Java, largely covered by dense jungle and rainforest. This amazing eight day trip journeys deep into the jungle to experience nature and wildlife at their finest.
As a launching pad to the jungles of Borneo, we begin in the seaside town of Sandakan, a former capital of British North Borneo and the gateway into Sabah’s eco-wonders. The world as we know it quickly changes as we travel deep into the jungle to experience what Malaysia is most famous for – unrivaled nature, exotic wildlife and awesome adventure. Here, get up close and personal to learn about Malaysia’s robust wildlife conservation efforts starting with the Orang-utan Sanctuary at Sepilok where orphaned and injured orang-utans are brought for rehabilitation to be return to the wild.
We continue our jungle expedition overland to Danum Valley, recognized as one of the world’s most complex ecosystem so remote from human habitation, this forest serves as a natural home for endangered wildlife species such as banteng, Asian elephant, clouded leopard, orang-utan, proboscis monkey, as well as a vast range of Sabah’s lowland fauna. Here, enjoy relaxation, swimming, nature treks including the spectacular Tree Top Canopy Walk and a suspenseful night safari to observe nocturnal animals in the wild.
Last but not least, we end the trip at one of Malaysia’s most beautiful and diverse seaside spots – Kota Kinabalu. Home to Mount Kinabalu and some of the most prolific marine life on Earth, choose from an array of activities your heart desires everything from blissful relaxation on its white sandy shores, to diving and snorkeling atop virgin coral reefs, or a round of golf at one of KK’s Championship courses.

Day 1 Arrive Sandakan
Upon arrival in Sandakan, be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the balance of the day at leisure to explore Sandakan City on your own before your jungle safari the next morning.
Day 2 Sandakan / Sepilok / Sukau
This morning, depart by road for Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center. Located deep in the rain forest, orphaned and injured orang-utans are brought to Sepilok for rehabilitation to be return to the wild. Learn about the center’s conservation efforts and witness the feeding of orangutans as they emerge from the forest for their daily ration of bananas and milk. Watch as the primates are fed from a platform in the centre and then returned to roam freely in the forest where they can fend for themselves. Afterwards, travel overland to Sukau and check-in at Borneo Nature Lodge OR Kinabantagan River Lodge for your next 2 nights’ accommodation. Later in the afternoon, enjoy a boat trip on the Menanggol River to the Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the best places in Southeast Asia to observe wildlife where the elusive Proboscis monkey, Macaques, Hornbills, Kingfishers and many others are often seen. Day 3 Sukau (Oxbow Lakes)
Embark on an early morning river journey to the Oxbow lakes with excellent opportunities to observe mother nature, orangutans and other wildlife in the rainforest. Late morning return to the lodge for breakfast. Enjoy time at leisure to relax and soak up nature at its purest form. Late afternoon river cruise in Kinabatangan to search for more wildlife and birds. Overnight Borneo Nature Lodge OR Kinabatagan Lodge. Lunch and dinner at the lodge. Day 4 Sukau / Danum Valley
After an early morning breakfast, depart by road for Danum Valley, visiting Lahad Datu town and Borneo Nature Tour office for registration/briefing en-route. Upon late morning/early afternoon arrival, check-in at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge with lunch on the premises and time at leisure to relax and get acquainted with the virgin jungle. After a quick orientation, enjoy a trek through Nature Trails and the tree top Canopy Walkway spanning 300 metres in length and 26m at the highest point for a close-up observation of the rainforest. Return to the lodge for dinner. Later this evening, embark on a night safari by an open-top vehicle in search of nocturnal wildlife. Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge. (B,L,D)

Day 5 Danum Valley
After breakfast, take a morning Jungle Trek the Kadazandusun burial site, a.k.a. “Coffin Cliff” followed by the “View Point” for a bird’s eye view of the area. Descend to the “Jacuzzi Pool” for a refreshing dip before returning to the lodge for lunch. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure or go tubing down the Danum River. Later this evening, enjoy a night walk in search of nocturnal animals. Dinner and overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge. Day 6 Danum Valley / Lahad Datu / Kota Kinabalu
After breakfast at the lodge, transfer to Lahad Datu Airport (2.5 hrs drive) by shared vehicle for your flight to Kota Kinabalu. Upon arrival, be met and transferred to your seaside resort for your next 2 nights’ accommodations. (B)
Day 7 Kota Kinabalu
Full day free at leisure to relax and explore KK on your own. (B)
Day 8 Depart Kota Kinabalu
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight onwards. (B)
