Private India Tour: Golden Triangle
Priceless India
Delhi — Agra — Jaipur
Places Where You'll Stay
Journeys Through India’s Imperial Capitals & Mughal Legacy
Designed as a privately guided Golden Triangle journey, this itinerary offers a clear and well-structured introduction to North India, bringing together Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur in a composition that emphasizes historical continuity, architectural legacy, and cultural context. Suited to first-time visitors, it serves as a focused first chapter—balancing landmark sites with lived settings to present India with clarity, progression, and a strong sense of place.
Urban contrast shapes the experience in Delhi, where historic quarters defined by mosques, bazaars, and dense street life stand alongside planned avenues, civic landmarks, and later imperial interventions. The city establishes the broader rhythm of the journey, revealing how layers of empire, faith, and modern nationhood remain visible within everyday life.
Monumental architecture reaches a more distilled expression in Agra, where Mughal design is seen through symmetry, proportion, and strategic scale. The Taj Mahal offers one register of refinement, while Agra Fort introduces another through its red-sandstone massing and commanding riverfront position. Nearby, Fatehpur Sikri extends this narrative through an imperial city that still conveys ambition, order, and impermanence with unusual clarity.
A different architectural and cultural language emerges in Jaipur, where fortified hillsides, palace complexes, and astronomical planning reflect the distinct character of Rajput heritage. Here, power is expressed not only through defense and display, but through geometry, craftsmanship, and urban form, bringing contrast and balance to the Mughal arc established earlier.
Privately guided and thoughtfully paced, this Golden Triangle journey is well suited to travelers seeking a private India tour that prioritizes structure, context, and a measured introduction to the country’s defining historical and cultural foundations.

TOUR ITINERARY:
Days 1–2: Delhi — Empires, Faith & Imperial Grandeur
Delhi is a city layered with over a thousand years of history, where ancient dynasties, Mughal emperors, and British colonial planners have left their mark. From sacred monuments and bustling bazaars to ceremonial avenues and modern civic landmarks, the capital offers a powerful introduction to India’s political, spiritual, and cultural foundations.
Day 1 (Welcome to India!): Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for your next two nights’ accommodations. The remainder of the day is at leisure, allowing time to rest after your journey or begin settling into the rhythm of the city at your own pace.
Day 2 (Old & New Delhi Discovery): Delhi reveals itself in vivid contrasts—Mughal grandeur and modern nationhood sharing the same horizon. In Old Delhi, the red-sandstone walls of the Red Fort and the vast Jama Masjid anchor a world of living lanes and bazaars, best experienced through Chandni Chowk’s hum of spice stalls, silver shops, and sari merchants.
From there, the day moves through layers of history: the ruins of Kotla Firoze Shah with its ancient Ashoka Pillar, and the quiet simplicity of Raj Ghat, Gandhi’s riverside memorial. New Delhi shifts the mood to broad boulevards and imperial geometry—Rashtrapati Bhavan, the government quarter, and India Gate—before returning to Mughal artistry at Humayun’s Tomb and the enduring monuments of Delhi’s earliest Islamic era, including the Iron Pillar and Qutub Minar. Day 3: Agra — Mughal Mastery & Timeless Romance
Agra stands as a testament to the artistic and architectural ambition of the Mughal Empire. Set along the Yamuna River, the city is defined by marble mausoleums, fortified palaces, and formal gardens that together express both imperial power and profound devotion, culminating in one of the world’s most celebrated monuments.
Day 3 (Journey to Agra): After breakfast, travel overland this morning by private car to Agra (approx. 4 hours), once the imperial heart of the Mughal Empire, where grand monuments rise along the banks of the Yamuna River. On arrival, explore Agra Fort, a formidable red-sandstone citadel of palaces, mosques, and audience halls whose architecture reflects a sophisticated blend of Islamic and Hindu design traditions.
As evening approaches, cross the river to Mehtab Bagh—the restored “Moonlight Garden”—for a serene sunset view of the Taj Mahal, its marble silhouette glowing softly in the fading light. Overnight in Agra. (B)

Days 4–5: Jaipur — Royal Rajasthan & Living Traditions

Beyond its grand façades, Jaipur offers insight into enduring traditions, vibrant markets, and the everyday rhythms of Rajasthani life.
Day 4 (From the Taj Mahal to the Pink City): At dawn, encounter the Taj Mahal as first light casts a gentle glow across its luminous marble and delicate inlay work. Commissioned by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of Mumtaz Mahal, the monument remains a study in harmony and proportion—intimate in sentiment, yet monumental in presence.
Later, depart Agra for the overland journey to Jaipur (approx. 5 hours), pausing at Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar’s red-sandstone capital. Though occupied for only a short time, its arcaded courtyards and carved façades reveal a refined synthesis of Hindu and Islamic design, preserving the ambition of the Mughal court. By afternoon, arrive in Rajasthan’s Pink City, framed by rugged hills and crowned with hilltop fortresses. The remainder of the day is at leisure. (B)
Day 5 (The Jewels of Jaipur): Jaipur unfolds today in layers of royal ambition and intellectual precision. Ascend to Amber Fort, where hilltop courtyards, mirrored halls, and the revered Shiladevi Temple reflect the power and artistry of the Rajput courts. Below, the honeycombed façade of Hawa Mahal—Jaipur’s famed “Palace of Winds”—stands as an elegant reminder of a time when royal women observed the rhythms of the city from behind intricately screened windows.
Within the City Palace, a harmonious blend of Mughal and Rajasthani design continues this story of refinement, from ceremonial gateways to the private quarters of Chandra Mahal and the living devotion of Shri Govind Dev Temple. The day concludes at Jantar Mantar, where monumental stone instruments—precise even centuries later—speak to Jaipur’s enduring legacy of science, astronomy, and enlightened rule. (B)
